When you use Winkply, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile picture when you create an account.
  • Usage Data: Session duration, features used, confidence scores, and interaction patterns to improve our AI coaching.
  • Voice Data: Audio recordings during voice roleplay sessions are processed in real-time and are not stored after the session ends unless you explicitly save them.
  • Video Data: Video recordings for coaching analysis are processed on-device when possible. Cloud processing uses encrypted, temporary storage that is deleted within 24 hours.
  • Text Data: Messages you craft using our text tools are processed to generate suggestions but are not associated with your identity in our analytics.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our AI coaching services
  • Personalize your coaching experience and track progress
  • Generate confidence scores and improvement recommendations
  • Send service-related communications (with your consent for marketing)
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with:

  • AI Service Providers: Google Cloud (Lyria, Veo) for AI processing — data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Analytics Partners: Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics only.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest
  • TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • Principle of least privilege for internal data access
  • SOC 2 compliant cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud)

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion:

  • Personal data is deleted within 30 days
  • Anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely
  • Backup copies are purged within 90 days

7. Children's Privacy

Winkply is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
